Chris started playing tennis in Denver at the age of 10. A few years later, he was ranked 5th in Colorado and 10th in the intermountain region. Throughout his junior career, he played national tournaments and competed against many top players, including Andre Agassi. Chris was very fortunate to take lessons from a legendary tennis coach, Rich Hillway, who built a tennis dynasty at Cherry Creek High School. To this day, Cherry Creek holds the national record for most consecutive team victories in any high school sport. He continued his tennis career in college, where he was a walk-on for the UC Berkeley team. After graduating with a BA in Rhetoric, Chris earned an MA in Education at Stanford University and immediately began teaching high school English classes while continuing to play and coach tennis.
For the past 15 years, Chris has taught tennis to students of all ages and abilities. He enjoys tailoring lessons to each person's needs, and gets great satisfaction from helping players improve their technique and reach their goals.
Chris enjoys cross country skiing, mountain biking, hiking, running, golfing, swimming, boogie boarding (one of Sun Valley's best kept secrets), reading, playing guitar, writing songs, and playing with my his young daughter Sonnet.
